Van Mahotsav: Celebrating the Festival of Trees and Life

  Van Mahotsav, meaning “ Forest Festival ,” is an annual tree-planting celebration observed across India in the first week of July. It was started in 1950 by K.M. Munshi , the then Union Minister for Agriculture and Food, to create awareness about the importance of trees in maintaining ecological balance.
